The HD64180SCP10 is a network processing unit. It contains a 2-channel high-speed, multifunction serial interface, 8-bit CPU, 2-channel direct memory access controller with a chained block tranfer funciton, tmiers, etc. The device is thus well suited to multiproteocol communications processing.
